The History: abigailgrows began in March 2016, where a naive 20 year old me wanted to inspire someone. The freedom of going to university had led to numerous self discoveries that I felt I should share with others, so they would know it was okay to be this way. It all began with a simple quote:
I am sure it is everyone’s experience, as it has been mine, that any discovery we make about ourselves or the meaning of life is never, like a scientific discovery, a coming upon something entirely new and unsuspected; it is rather, the coming to conscious recognition of something, which we really knew all the time but, because we were unwilling to formulate it correctly, we did not hitherto know we knew. – W.H Auden
As I grew older, I became more confident in voicing my opinions and views. I wanted to share amazing adventure, like medical school, and share my love of baking with the world. My obsession with quotes continued; I read more about how to teach, inspire and lead. I realised the blog could be more, I could do more.
Either write something worth reading, or do something worth writing. – Benjamin Franklin
The Now: I realised the power of a voice; speaking out, educating and inspiring through the platform I have been given; as a country with freedom of speech we a fortunate to have the opportunity to do this, so how could I not?
I am passionate: about looking after people in their time of need, global issues and providing joy through food (mainly cake!). These passions are what are I ultimately write about on this blog, it’s how I aim to inspire people and how I hope to contribute to global change.
